Flights

Portland International Airport is the best airport to fly into. We suggest folks plan to be in Portland for at least a section of the trip, though the wedding venue is about an hour and twenty minutes east into the Columbia River Gorge.

We personally fly Alaska Air most frequently…check out their Companion Fare to save on flights!

Accommodations

Portland is defined by quadrants, and we are partial to SE, where we've both always lived!

We highly recommend finding an Airbnb in or around the Hawthorne, Division, or Clinton neighborhoods. Portland's has a lot of hotels, but if we're being honest, they're mostly in not-super-great neighborhoods. We'd caution against staying downtown. Our recommendation if we need to suggest a hotel would be Hotel Jupiter.

An Airbnb in the Hawthorne, Division, or Clinton neighborhoods would have you within walking distance to our home, lots of restaurants and shopping, and grocery stores. Plus, there's lots of great transit options nearby. If you plan to use the shuttle we provide between Portland and Hood River for the wedding, we'd say that you don't even need to rent a car. Between public transportation, rentable e-bikes and scooters, and rideshares like Uber and Lyft, you could very easily get around.

Hood River, the city closest to our wedding venue, has hotels and some Airbnbs too. We, unfortunately, cannot get a hotel block in Hood River unless we also host an event at the hotel, which we are not planning to do. If you want to stay any nights in Hood River, we suggest you book as soon as possible.

We will be providing a shuttle between Portland and the venue, as well as Hood River and the venue.

Transportation

Portland is well served by rideshare companies like Uber and Lyft, and is pretty well connected with public transit. Honestly, it's quite walkable and bike-able in a lot of areas too!

We will be providing a shuttle between Portland and the venue, as well as Hood River and the venue.

A rental car is a nice plus to be able to explore the greater Portland area or head out to the coast!

Weather

Pacific northwest summers are typically pretty great. Rain is scarce and temperatures average around 80 with minimal humidity…a big difference from the east coast summers we grew up with!
